Sunday Market fills CBD streets

About a month ago I meat with Dr Esau Galukande, Director of markets for the Kampala Capital City Authority in Kampala. Amongst other things, he mentioned the Sunday Market. It was set up in 2015 to ease the congestion of market vendors in Kampala during the week and also to compensate vendors being chased of the streets for illegal vending.

Major streets in the CBD are closed off for the market mostly trading in second hand retail. Vendors pay a fee to KCCA law enforcement officers that roam the market throughout the day.
