Arcades, Malls and Complexes

Over the last few weeks I have visited a few different commercial schemes in Kampala's CBD. The three schemes below are all 10 years (or older) and stood out to me as they are maximum 3 storey high contrasting with the various taller buildings within the CBD. The first, Mukwano Arcade is constructed in the middle of a typical urban block with multiple entrances onto its neighbouring streets.

Mukwano Arcades' main entry is gated (see below), though it is open in the day and creates another route between the busy parallel roads it sits amidst.

Another scheme I visited, Pioneer Mall ....
